Smackdown Needs Top Faces

When all the lumberjacks came out for last week’s Lumberjack match on Smackdown, you could see just how thin the roster was. A good chunk of those dudes were tag teams, and then you had lower-card guys such as Aiden English, Tye Dillinger, Sin Cara, and Mike Kannelis.

With Bobby Roode now challenging for the US title and Shinsuke Nakamura becoming seemingly damaged goods, that leaves Styles and Orton as the top faces on Smackdown right now. While that is a killer combo, it’s not enough. In fact, I’m pretty sure that the writers turned Bobby Roode face because there was such a serious lack of them on the roster.

Finn Balor could be of great help on Smackdown. He could be placed in a potentially exciting feud with Baron Corbin for the US title. With Smackdown being less restrictive, he could find his character. Right now he’s the guy who pops his collar and becomes the devil. He could use a bit more character.

There are so many fresh match-ups for Finn Balor on Smackdown. He could face Rusev, Aiden English, or Mike Kannelis. He’s never fought Randy Orton before. That could be a good match.

If WWE is truly invested in Balor, they’d consider having him switch brands.
