Dragon Lee’s cryptic social media post just sparked fresh concern coming out of WrestleMania 42 — and now there may finally be an explanation for it.
On May 13, 2026, Dragon Lee took to Twitter and wrote a short but cryptic message that simply read “2-3 weeks.” The tweet immediately sparked speculation, as Lee did not provide any additional context. However, the timing led many to believe he was referencing his recovery after competing in the brutal Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania 42.
Following the tweet, Cory Hays revealed that the word coming out of WrestleMania was that Dragon Lee had been dealing with injuries.
“The word coming out of Mania was Dragon Lee was banged up. Might think this is related to that.”
Lee competed in the six-pack ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium. The match also featured Penta, Je’Von Evans, JD McDonagh, Rusev, and Rey Mysterio.
The bout was packed with high-risk spots and ladder crashes, with Penta ultimately retaining the championship after hitting a Mexican Destroyer on Je’Von Evans and climbing the ladder to retrieve the title.
Given the punishment everyone took in the match, it would not be surprising if Lee needed a few weeks to recover before stepping back into the ring. Between the cryptic tweet and the backstage talk coming out of WrestleMania, it definitely sounds like the WWE star may be recovering from damage suffered during the match.
Do you think WWE’s current style of ladder matches has become too dangerous, or is that level of risk part of what makes WrestleMania moments feel special? Leave your thoughts and feedback below.
