WrestleMania 42 Night 2 was a huge event, with fans packing Allegiant Stadium regardless of how expensive the tickets got. Fans have seen some massive ladder matches throughout WWE history, and this year did not disappoint.
This year we got a six-pack ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship with Penta vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio. Everyone had an opinion on who might limp away with the title, because this match was certain to take a toll on everyone involved.
This match had a lot going on, and everyone had a chance to show off. Rusev had the obvious size advantage over everyone else in the match, but everyone else used their speed as an advantage. Everyone in the contest was game to use ladders however they could, and in very inventive ways.
At many points, they found themselves at the top of the ladder, trying to capture the championship, but the match kept going with one high-risk move after another.
Je’Von Evans almost won, but Rusev removed the ladder from under him, and he was taken out after hanging from the title for a bit. Rusev set up the ladder and was booed in the process, but that didn’t stop him. Then Evans jumped off the top rope and nailed Rusev with an OG Cutter off the ladder. Penta was able to get in the ring and nail a Mexican Destroyer on Evans to climb up and capture his title for a successful retention at the show of shows.
