Carmelo Hayes’ shocking alliance with 946 on the October 12 edition of RAW apparently didn’t come together by accident. A new backstage report claims one member of the group personally pushed for Hayes to become part of the storyline.
According to False Finish, Royce Keys was the one who asked WWE to bring Hayes into 946. The report also claims Hayes’ recent absence from WWE television wasn’t random, as the company was quietly keeping him off TV while the angle was being put together.
That would explain why Hayes vanished from television for several weeks before suddenly showing up on Raw. Instead of returning on his own, he made an immediate impact by taking out Solo Sikoa with a tire iron before helping Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Royce Keys destroy Solo and The Usos to close the show.
If the report is accurate, Hayes’ return wasn’t a last-minute surprise but something WWE had been planning behind the scenes for weeks. It also suggests 946’s newest addition may have come together because someone already inside the group wanted him there.
Now that Hayes has officially aligned himself with 946, it’ll be interesting to see whether this was just the beginning or if the faction has even bigger plans moving forward.
