Liv Morgan won the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42, but there’s now a clear reason why her match with Stephanie Vaquer didn’t last very long.

Morgan defeated Vaquer in Las Vegas to reclaim the title after a fast-paced match that wrapped up quicker than some fans expected. The bout still had big moments, including interference from Roxanne Perez and a strong finish that saw Morgan throw Vaquer into the steel steps before hitting her finisher for the win. Now, an update has revealed why the match moved so quickly.

Sources told Bodyslam that both Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer were already banged up heading into WrestleMania 42. Because of that, WWE reportedly made the call to keep the match short so neither woman risked getting hurt even worse on the biggest stage of the year.

Even with the shorter runtime, Morgan still had a huge night. She performed her own entrance music live before the match and walked out of WrestleMania with the championship once again.

Do you think WWE made the right call keeping the match short to protect both stars, or should they have let them go longer anyway? Let us know in the comments.
