Ricky Sosa has been missing from TNA television for well over a month, and now there is finally an explanation for his absence.

During a PWInsider Q&A, Mike Johnson was asked why Sosa has not appeared in TNA since the March tapings. Johnson said Sosa was given time away from the company to handle a personal matter back home in the UK, making it clear the absence is not injury-related.

“We are told he was given time off to help out with a personal situation back home in the UK. No injury or anything like that.”

Sosa was last seen on TNA television during the April 9 edition of iMPACT!, when Eric Young took him out with a huge piledriver. That angle came after Sosa had been feuding with Young following his official signing with the company.

Sosa was also featured during TNA Sacrifice in a major in-ring segment with Tommy Dreamer, TNA President Carlos Silva, and Chris Bey. The segment positioned Sosa as one of the promotion’s new rising talents, with Sosa signing his contract in front of the live crowd. After the signing, TNA quickly made his merchandise available through its official store, showing that the company had plans to present him as a fresh face on the roster.

His sudden absence led to a lot of questions, especially after the Eric Young angle seemed to write him off television. Now, this update makes it clear that Sosa’s time away is tied to a personal situation, not an injury setback. For now, there is no confirmed return date for Ricky Sosa, but the explanation should clear up some of the confusion surrounding his absence from TNA programming.
