R-Truth had a simple message after losing the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown — he’s sorry.
Following the August 14 title change in Boston, Truth took to Twitter and apologized directly to the WWE Universe and his tag team partner Damian Priest. Truth posted a photo of himself sitting with Priest and wrote:
“I’m sorry to the @WWE Universe and I’m sorry to my dawg. @ArcherOfInfamy”
The apology came after Truth and Priest lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga of the MFTs in a three-way match that also included the War Raiders. The MFTs walked out of TD Garden with the gold, ending Priest and Truth’s reign after they had defeated the same group for the titles back in March.
Truth didn’t make excuses or point fingers after the loss. Instead, he put the blame on himself and made sure Priest and the fans knew exactly how he felt about coming up short. For now, R-Truth and Damian Priest are no longer champions, and Truth clearly isn’t taking the loss lightly.
