Possible Plans for WWE Crown Jewel if Saudi Arabia Event Gets Canceled

WWE apparently doesn’t have a backup city waiting around for Crown Jewel if the company pulls the plug on Saudi Arabia. According to Jonathan Coachman, if the November 7 show gets canceled, fans shouldn’t expect WWE to simply pack everything up and run the event somewhere else next weekend.

Speaking on Two Count Tuesday, Coachman said he received word about what WWE would reportedly do if Crown Jewel can’t happen in Saudi Arabia. Instead of relocating the show on short notice, he claims the entire event would be postponed until a much later date.

“By the way, I also got word — if they’re canceling it, they won’t do the show. It’s canceled and postponed to a much, much later date. It will not happen next weekend anywhere else. That’s what I was told yesterday.”

Ari Emanuel previously confirmed that there’s a team monitoring the situation every day and looking at potential alternatives. That naturally opened the door to speculation that WWE could simply move Crown Jewel to another location and still hold the show on November 7. According to Coachman, that apparently isn’t the plan.

If his information is accurate, WWE would instead scrap the November 7 event entirely and bring Crown Jewel back at some point down the road. Coachman didn’t say how far into the future the show could be pushed or what would happen to the matches already announced.

All of this comes while things are pretty messy behind the scenes. WrestleVotes previously said a longtime WWE source described the situation as “absolute disarray,” with talent and staff unsure exactly what’s going to happen as the show gets closer.

There’s also been talk about talent potentially refusing to make the trip. WrestleVotes said WWE stars can technically stay home, but they wouldn’t get paid for the show and could potentially return to work with a different standing in the company.

Publicly, though, Crown Jewel is still moving forward. Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh was promoting tickets on October 26, and Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship is still being advertised.

As of now, WWE hasn’t canceled, postponed or relocated Crown Jewel, so the November 7 show remains on the schedule at Riyadh Season Stadium. But if things do change, Coachman claims WWE’s backup plan isn’t another city next weekend — it’s no Crown Jewel at all until a much later date.

Do you think postponing Crown Jewel would be the right move if WWE decides it can’t hold the show in Saudi Arabia, or should the company try to find another location? Let us know what you think in the comments.
