Jonathan Coachman says he’s already been told what WWE has in mind for WrestleMania — and we’re not talking about some vague possibilities. According to Coachman, his source was “100%” on Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk and Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns being the two matches WWE wants to headline the two nights.

Speaking on 2 Count Tuesday, Coachman dropped the claim while he and JD were talking about Roman’s limited schedule. The conversation was originally about finding the right balance between keeping a major star special and actually having them around enough to build stories.

That’s when Coachman casually revealed that one of his connections had called him just the day before. According to him, that person didn’t leave much room for doubt about the WrestleMania plans.

“Yeah. Well, I had — so one of my connections actually called me yesterday, and they said 100% for WrestleMania, it’s Cody-Punk and it’s Oba-Roman.”

Of course, getting from where WWE is now to those two matches is another story entirely. Coachman pointed out that there were still six months to go, with Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble both standing between WWE and WrestleMania.

“So, if that’s the case, that is now six months away. And if Roman is only there periodically, and we have to get through Survivor Series, Royal Rumble to get to WrestleMania with those two, then there’s going to be a lot of Oba beating people down, keeping people down.”

If WWE really is planning Oba against Roman, Coachman expects the company to spend those months making Femi look like an absolute monster. He doesn’t necessarily think everyone will love what that means for the people standing across from Oba, but he sees it as part of getting him ready for that level of match.

“Not his fault, but that’s how creative is going to book this, because they want to make Oba. And, by the way, combined between the two, one loss in 2026.”

Then there’s Cody and Punk. When the conversation eventually swung back to that match, JD questioned who would be champion by WrestleMania and suggested Cody would need to turn heel to give the feud a stronger dynamic. Coachman was completely on board with that idea. More importantly, he doubled down on what he’d been told about the two matches instead of backing away from his original claim.

“Ten thousand percent. I was told 100% that’s going to be the two nights’ main event.”

WWE hasn’t announced either match, so there’s still a long way to go before Coachman’s claim can be treated as anything official. But if his source has it right, WWE may already have Roman, Oba, Cody and Punk penciled into the biggest spots of WrestleMania.
