Penta has a wild idea for WWE, and it would instantly make one match feel completely different.
While speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Penta was asked a simple question near the end of the interview: does he prefer a four-sided ring or a six-sided ring? Penta did not need much time to think about it.
“Six-sided, dude.”
The host then asked if Penta had ever gone to Triple H and asked WWE to try a six-sided ring one time. Penta sounded open to the idea and said WWE can do anything now.
“Wow. Why not? You know, why not? Now in these times, WWE can do everything. I just need to put imagination for everything in the job, and why not, bro?”
The idea got even bigger when the host pitched SummerSlam with Penta defending the Intercontinental Championship in a six-sided ring. Penta was clearly into it.
“Will be amazing, my man. Will be amazing like that.”
The host then pushed the idea of WWE giving fans a six-sided ring one time, whether it happens at SummerSlam or with Penta defending the IC Title in Triple A. Penta made it clear he is ready for any setup WWE wants to throw at him.
“Yeah, why not, bro? Penta is ready for everything. No matter the ring — six, eight, ten, no matter what. Penta always ready for the war and to defend my Intercontinental Champion. No matter what, no matter who, and no matter where.”
A six-sided ring would be a pretty big visual shift for WWE, but with the company working with AAA and bringing more lucha libre flavor into the product, it is not the craziest idea anymore. Penta is already tied to that world, and he clearly sees no issue defending his title in a different kind of ring.
WWE does not usually change its ring setup, but Penta is making it clear that he is game if the company ever wants to try something different.
