Orange Cassidy has found at least one thing about MJF worse than actually wrestling him: apparently, it’s the smell. Cassidy says MJF has terrible body odor, doesn’t wash his hands enough and walks around with so much tanner on them that he finds it “disgusting.”

While speaking on Under the Mat, Cassidy was actually sharing one of his stranger wrestling travel tricks. He puts dryer sheets at the bottom of his gear bag because one of his biggest fears is showing up to wrestle somebody while smelling terrible.

“It keeps your stuff smelling incredible, and people will actually be like, ‘Oh, wow. You smell good.’ Because my biggest fear, I don’t, I never want to stink.”

It makes sense considering how much of professional wrestling involves getting extremely close to another sweaty human being. That naturally raised another question: had Cassidy ever wrestled somebody who smelled so bad that he wanted nothing to do with them? Cassidy didn’t need much time to think about it: “Yeah.” When given the opportunity to name and shame the wrestler responsible, Cassidy went straight for one of AEW’s biggest stars.

“Maxwell Jacob Friedman.”

The complaints didn’t stop with MJF’s smell. Cassidy also went after the state of Friedman’s hands, claiming they’re constantly covered in tanning product. Cassidy then offered his own explanation for why MJF’s hands apparently look that way. As far as he’s concerned, the answer is pretty simple.

“And his hands are just covered in tanner. Looks disgusting. He’s disgusting.”

“Like, the reason why your hands are like that is ’cause you don’t wash your hands.”

This apparently isn’t something Cassidy has only been saying behind MJF’s back either. He claimed he tells Friedman the same thing directly “all the time.” According to Cassidy, MJF doesn’t exactly launch into an elaborate defense whenever he gets called out over it. His response is considerably shorter.

“That’s all he says back to you.”

Cassidy might be committed enough to keeping his own gear fresh that he travels with dryer sheets, but he clearly doesn’t think MJF shares that concern. If the two ever end up across the ring from each other again, Friedman may have more than an Orange Punch to worry about. Apparently, Cassidy will also be checking whether he finally washed his hands.

What do you make of Orange Cassidy calling out MJF over his hygiene, and how do you think MJF will respond? Let us know in the comments.
