Orange Cassidy has spent years getting thrown around, beaten down, and putting his body through some seriously brutal matches in AEW. And while he might look like he doesn’t have a care in the world, the punishment is apparently catching up with him.

During a recent appearance on Going Ringside, Cassidy was asked about the physical toll of competing in AEW since 2019. Host Scott Johnson pointed out how violent and physically demanding some of the company’s matches have become before asking whether all those years of punishment have finally started taking their toll.

Cassidy didn’t try to pretend his body was feeling great. Instead, he admitted the wear and tear is real, but he’s found a pretty unusual way of dealing with it — simply refusing to think about how much he hurts.

“Yeah, sure. But, uh, you know, you kind of block out that from your brain and, uh, try not to think about it because if I think about it then things start to hurt but if I don’t think about it then things don’t hurt.”

That’s certainly one way to deal with years of getting slammed into the mat. Cassidy didn’t mention any specific injuries or suggest he was dealing with something that could keep him out of action, but he made it clear that his body hasn’t escaped the punishment.

Cassidy has been part of AEW since its early days, competing in everything from championship matches to some of the company’s most physically demanding rivalries. His laid-back personality might make it seem like nothing bothers him, but there’s still a human being taking those bumps every time he steps between the ropes. And with Cassidy continuing to find himself caught up in physical confrontations involving the Death Riders, there doesn’t appear to be much opportunity for him to avoid taking more punishment.

How much longer do you think Orange Cassidy can keep putting his body through AEW’s physically demanding matches, and do you think his wrestling style has taken a bigger toll than fans realize? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
