Oba Femi is being advertised for an upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown, and that immediately raises questions about which world champion “The Ruler” could be coming after next.
WWE will bring Friday Night SmackDown to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 21, 2026. The venue is now advertising Femi for the show following his SummerSlam victory over Brock Lesnar. Scotiabank Arena pushed the appearance while promoting tickets for the event.
“Breaking News 🚨 @Obaofwwe is coming to Toronto fresh off his SummerSlam victory over Brock Lesnar! See ‘The Ruler’ live at @WWE #SmackDown on August 21.”
Femi is coming off the biggest win of his WWE career after defeating Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. That match wrapped up their program, with Lesnar later confirming that he is retired.
With Femi now being advertised for SmackDown in Toronto, Punk’s championship is going to be impossible to ignore. WWE has not announced that Femi is challenging Punk, but his appearance gives the company an easy opening to move that story forward if that is where things are headed.
Femi already knocked off Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. Now that “The Ruler” is coming to SmackDown with a world title opportunity still in his pocket, the question is whether CM Punk should start looking over his shoulder.
Do you think Oba Femi should challenge CM Punk or Roman Reigns for his King of the Ring title shot? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
