Nikki Bella knows her days inside a WWE ring are numbered, and the Hall of Famer is already thinking about what she’ll be leaving behind when her wrestling career finally comes to an end. But it’s not the championships or major matches that she’s worried about missing the most — it’s the women she’s helped inspire along the way.
During an interview with SportsRadio 94WIP, Nikki opened up about her WWE future while discussing the possibility of having another singles match against her twin sister Brie Bella. Nikki admitted that their injuries and the limited time remaining in their careers have made another showdown between the sisters increasingly unlikely.
When asked whether she would consider wrestling Brie one more time, Nikki acknowledged just how close they are to wrapping up their in-ring careers.
“I mean, now, like after our injuries, I don’t think so. I just don’t think we’re so like at the end of our in-ring careers that I feel like it just has to be together at this point.”
Those comments are particularly interesting considering Nikki has already discussed the timeline for her WWE retirement. As Ringside News previously covered, Nikki revealed in March 2026 that she and Brie signed two-year contracts beginning at the Royal Rumble. She also made it clear that the agreement was expected to mark the final chapter of their wrestling careers.
Later in the interview, Nikki was asked what made her most proud about helping shape WWE’s women’s division. Instead of pointing to her championship accomplishments, Nikki explained that being able to wrestle alongside women who grew up watching her and Brie has become one of the most meaningful experiences of her career.
“Uh, you know, it’s I feel so lucky that I get to be here right now um at this point in my career, my life, and my age to be surrounded by all these women that were inspired by Brie and I when they were young. Like talk about a pinch me moment cuz so many people who inspire motivate people, they don’t get to sit and be on the court with them or the football field or whatever it may be.”
Nikki continued by explaining that sharing a locker room and wrestling ring with the next generation has made the sacrifices throughout her career feel worthwhile. She believes seeing those women succeed has given her a sense of purpose that goes beyond anything she accomplished individually.
“So the fact that I get to share a locker room with these women, a ring, that has probably been the greatest moment of my career because it showed that everything I fought for, everything I did, everything I sacrificed, used my voice, my platform, like these are the results of all these women.”
That connection to the current roster clearly means a lot to Nikki. She acknowledged that speaking up and fighting for changes wasn’t always easy, but she believes the evolution of WWE’s women’s division has made those difficult moments worthwhile.
“And it’s just showed you of like when you feel purpose and like even though it could be scared to voice and fight for what you believe in, but you do it because now I look at all these women I go see this is why I did it. And even though I had hard times and then there was great times, but this has been honestly the highlight of my career and the fact that when I leave, I’m going to miss all of them, but it’s like I’m going to be leaving all my daughters. Like all these women that I raised and now that I get to call friends, it’s truly been such a highlight.”
Nikki’s relationship with the current women’s roster has been important to her since returning to WWE. In June 2025, she turned down a private locker room during WWE RAW because she wanted to spend time with the other female Superstars rather than separate herself from the group.
The Hall of Famer has also been open about wanting her final WWE run to be different from previous chapters of her career. Earlier this year, Nikki expressed her desire to finish her career as a heel, explaining that she wanted to focus on character work rather than return as a babyface.
Although Nikki hasn’t announced an exact retirement date, her latest comments suggest she’s already preparing emotionally for the moment she walks away. After years of championships, rivalries and personal sacrifices, it’s the relationships with the women who followed in her footsteps that she expects to miss the most.
