WrestleMania is heading overseas for the first time ever, and Nick Khan says WWE isn’t worried about where the show happens.
While speaking at the SBJ CAA World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles, WWE President Nick Khan confirmed that WrestleMania 43 in 2027 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The move marks the first time the company’s biggest event will be held outside the United States or Canada. Khan made it clear this isn’t a one-off decision and pointed to WWE’s ongoing partnership with Saudi Arabia as a major factor behind the move.
“We’re doing WrestleMania next year in Saudi. First time ever, WrestleMania will be outside the United States or Canada, and we’ve had a big, fruitful partnership with them…”
The decision continues WWE’s trend of running major events outside North America, something Khan believes fans will support no matter where the show is held.
“When we go, it doesn’t have to be only here. Our fans will tune in… no matter where we go.”
Khan also addressed criticism surrounding WWE’s continued relationship with Saudi Arabia. According to reports from the event, he downplayed negative reactions and described critics as a small portion of the audience rather than a widespread concern.
Khan referred to those criticizing the move as a “vocal minority” and mentioned that WWE decisions are based on measurable performance — including ratings, revenue, and overall relevance.
Saudi Arabia has already hosted several major WWE events in recent years, including the 2026 Royal Rumble earlier this year. Now, bringing WrestleMania there takes the partnership to an entirely new level.
Moving WrestleMania outside North America marks one of the biggest location changes in the event’s history, and it could reshape how WWE plans major shows going forward.
