Nick Khan has no interest in becoming a WWE on-screen character—and he shut the idea down immediately.
While speaking on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Khan was asked directly if he’d ever consider becoming an on-screen character in WWE, with more executives occasionally appearing on programming over the years. Khan went on to explain that his approach hasn’t changed much from his previous career, where he preferred to stay out of the limelight and let the work speak for itself.
“A character? Never. Never, ever, ever. I’m a behind-the-scenes guy. If you remember in my prior profession, I never asked to do podcasts. I did podcasts and interviews, but I believed, for me as an agent, it was best for my name to appear off the page of the order only.”
That philosophy still applies now, even with WWE operating in a different environment as a publicly traded company where media visibility is more important. Even with that increased visibility, Khan made it clear he’s not the one who should be representing WWE on-screen when it comes to the product itself.
“Now we’re a publicly traded company—it’s different. We have to do media coverage. Triple H will do most of that on our collective behalf. But in terms of a character who’s also a real-life executive—never, ever going to happen.”
Khan’s answer wasn’t vague or open-ended—it was a hard no, and one that doesn’t sound like it’s changing. While others may step into the limelight on television, he’s making it clear that’s not part of his plan.
