Nick Hogan isn’t happy about a story putting words in his mouth about his late father. After WorldStar Hip Hop posted a supposed quote from Nick defending Hulk Hogan against racism accusations, Nick called the story fake and said his lawyer would be getting involved.
The post claimed Nick Hogan said Hulk “loved everything about Black people,” including Black music and cooking. It also attributed the line “We had a Black nanny” to him. Nick took to his Instagram Story and immediately denied saying any of it. He didn’t stop with a correction either. Nick warned that WorldStar could be hearing from his lawyer.
“Fake story and quote. My lawyer will be in touch today. Check sources 👍”
The timing is notable because Hulk Hogan’s 2015 racism controversy has recently been back in the conversation. In Netflix’s Hulk Hogan: Real American, Hogan addressed the leaked recording that led to his WWE exit and acknowledged that his words continued to follow him years later. Hogan also admitted that the damage didn’t simply disappear after the original controversy died down.
“I’m a person that got very mad about a personal situation. I used a word. Yeah, I regret it because even under that heavy crazy fire I should’ve remained still. What I said resonates and has an echo effect and it keeps vibrating for years.”
Nick, however, isn’t offering his own defense of what his father said in that Instagram Story. He clearly wasn’t in the mood to play around with this one. WorldStar put the quote out there, Nick says he never said it, and now it sounds like his lawyer gets the next word.
