You never know what can happen in WWE, and this is very true for the company nowadays. WWE SmackDown got underway this week from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with a major announcement from Nick Aldis.

After being placed on administrative leave several weeks ago following a backstage confrontation with GUNTHER, Aldis addressed his status right away. After all, WWE wasn’t happy about how Aldis and GUNTHER put hands on each other. The act was deemed too much for their corporate culture, so Aldis received that slap on the wrist.

The SmackDown authority figure announced that the situation had been resolved and that he had officially been reinstated as SmackDown General Manager. Now Nick Aldis is back at his job, and he didn’t let up on getting right down to business.

With that out of the way, Nick Aldis quickly turned his attention to the night’s biggest story. He welcomed the new Undisputed WWE Champion, CM Punk, to the ring for his first appearance on the blue brand since his shocking return on Monday Night RAW. After all, Aldis was the man who claimed responsibility for Punk’s return, so this may have sweetened the deal on getting him back to his job sooner.

What’s your take on Nick Aldis as SmackDown General Manager? Do you think he needs to have a match against GUNTHER? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
