WWE just added even more bodies to an already packed SmackDown.
The September 25 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to push things toward Money in the Bank, and WWE has now added a six-woman tag team match to a card that already includes two qualifiers and a United States Championship Steel Cage fight.
WWE announced that Fatal Influence — Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid — will team up to face Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green and Paige. That gives SmackDown another women’s match on top of the huge Money in the Bank qualifier between Giulia, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend.
Trick Williams will also have nowhere to run when he defends the United States Championship against Baron Corbin inside a Steel Cage. WWE made the cage match official after their issues reached the point where apparently four walls of steel were the only solution left.
The Men’s Money in the Bank picture will also be settled when Finn Balor, CM Punk and Gunther collide for the final available spot in the ladder match.
Punk is coming off losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn in Mexico City, so grabbing that briefcase would give him a very convenient shortcut back toward the title.
The women have just as much riding on their qualifier. Giulia, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend will fight for the final Women’s Money in the Bank spot, meaning two of them are going home without a ticket to New Orleans.
The updated WWE SmackDown card for September 25 now includes:
- Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Finn Balor vs. CM Punk vs. Gunther
- Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend
- WWE United States Championship Steel Cage Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Baron Corbin
- Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) vs. Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green & Paige
SmackDown will take place from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the show starting at 8 PM ET on USA Network. International viewers can also watch through Netflix where available.
WWE already had a loaded night lined up, and adding six more women to the mix only makes this one feel even busier. Between two Money in the Bank spots hanging in the balance and Trick Williams getting locked inside a cage with Baron Corbin, there’s plenty that can go sideways before the night is over.
