WWE is sending some main roster names down to NXT for live event duty this weekend.

During the June 16 episode of NXT on The CW, WWE announced that Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Grayson Waller will be part of the upcoming NXT house show tour. That gives the brand some extra star power for three live events across Kentucky and Indiana. The NXT live event schedule includes Pikeville, Kentucky on June 18, Corbin, Kentucky on June 19, and Evansville, Indiana on June 20.

This move makes sense, because Otis, Tozawa, and Waller have not exactly been featured heavily on main roster television lately. Sending them to NXT live events keeps them active, gets them in front of fans, and gives the NXT roster some experienced names to work with.

Otis is always good for a crowd reaction, Tozawa can work with just about anyone, and Waller brings the kind of mouthy personality that can heat up a live event fast. For NXT fans going to those shows, it is a nice bonus.

WWE has used main roster talent on NXT programming and live events before, and this feels like another way to keep underused talent busy while also giving NXT house shows a little more juice. It may not mean a full NXT run for any of them, but for this weekend, Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Grayson Waller are getting some extra reps outside the main roster spotlight.

What do you think about WWE using underutilized main roster talent on NXT live events?
