Mick Foley is still leaving the door open for one final match—and now he’s already pitching an AEW angle that could put MJF directly in his path. All it would take is MJF beating the hell out of Foley’s best friend.
Speaking on the August 11 edition of The Mick and Kenny Show, Foley was asked about reports that he could potentially wrestle one more time. Foley didn’t confirm any negotiations with Tony Khan, but he did make it clear another match isn’t completely off the table.
“There is a possibility, but the stars would have to align.”
Then Foley started booking. His idea would have him arrive backstage at AEW alongside his best friend Kenny Jordan, where the two would attempt to interview MJF. MJF would take offense to something Jordan asked, and that’s where everything would go completely off the rails.
“I’ll tell you, I’m going to suggest an angle. Okay. I come backstage AEW with my best friend Kenny. We attempt to—we attempt to interview MJF, right?”
Jordan was thrilled by the idea of meeting MJF: “If that happens, I will cry. I love MJF so much.” Foley had considerably worse news about what would happen next.
“And then MJF takes offense at one of the questions and proceeds to beat the dog crap out of you.”
Suddenly Jordan wasn’t quite as excited: “Okay, we might not do that. My mom will kill me.” Foley wasn’t backing down: “Yeah. No, I think it’ll happen.”
And if anyone was wondering why MJF destroying Kenny Jordan would be enough to drag Foley back into a fight, Foley already has his inspiration: John Wick.
“Do you ever see the original John Wick? Remember? Why was John Wick out for revenge? What did they do to him?”
Jordan knew exactly where this was going: “They killed his dog.” The Hardcore Legend brought it home as he said:
““His dog. You’re my dog, Kenny. You’re my dog. Next time I show up on TV, I’m not gonna have my two pups on there. I’m gonna have Kenny on my shirt.”
Foley was clearly having fun fantasy-booking the whole thing, so MJF isn’t suddenly confirmed as his final opponent. But Foley once again refused to close the door on another match, and this time he came armed with an entire ridiculous revenge story to get himself there.
Darby Allin was previously Foley’s dream opponent. Now MJF has another route into the conversation: destroy Kenny Jordan, unleash Mick Foley’s inner John Wick and hope somebody has a camera rolling.
