Mick Foley is keeping his political opinions front and center. Just one day after posting about a roadside billboard in Tennessee, the WWE Hall of Famer returned to Instagram with another message aimed at Donald Trump following comments the president made during a campaign rally.
The latest post came after Trump, speaking at a rally in Nebraska, made comments about Los Angeles and San Diego while discussing the ongoing conflict involving Iran. The remarks quickly led to a lot of backlash online, and Foley decided to share his own. Taking to Instagram on October 6, Foley said he hadn’t planned on making another political post, but felt this situation was too important to ignore.
“WHERE IS THE OUTCRY?
The President of the United States suggested that Iran should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego — and the crowd applauded.”
Foley explained that he normally tries to avoid filling his social media with political content, but said he felt he needed to speak up after hearing those remarks. He questioned the response from Republican politicians before encouraging people to vote in the upcoming midterm elections.
“I really don’t want to post about politics on here. But when the most powerful man in the world seems to have no problem with the annihilation of millions of US citizens, I feel the need to speak up – especially when hundreds of our elected leaders are too gutless to do so. Where is the outcry from Republicans? Cowards. Vote them out.”
Foley clearly felt Trump’s comments crossed a line, and he didn’t see much point in staying quiet about them. Whether people agree with his take or not, he made it clear he thinks the remarks deserved a much stronger reaction than they’ve received so far.
