Maven is clearing the air on that “Why I Hate Triple H” video, and yeah, the title did exactly what it was supposed to do.

On June 5, Maven dropped a video on his YouTube channel with the title “Why I Hate Triple H.” In the video, he talked about Triple H shutting down talk of pushing him during WWE creative meetings. Naturally, that headline got people talking fast.

During a recent interview with Wrestling Life Online, Maven was asked straight up why he hates Triple H. That’s when he pumped the brakes and admitted he doesn’t actually hate him. The title was just doing the job.

“Anybody that’s in the content creation space understands just how much heavy lifting a good thumbnail and a good title can truly do. I don’t hate Triple H. But the title sure did some heavy lifting in that video.”

Maven explained that the video probably would not have done nearly as well if he had gone with a softer title. He said calling it something like “My Honest Opinions Of Triple H” would have killed a lot of the interest right away.

“That video doesn’t perform as well if I title it, ‘My Honest Opinions Of Triple H.’ That video is sitting at maybe 100,000 views, if that’s the case. My hats off to Zach for knowing how to title, how to thumbnail a video.”

He also admitted he was not always thrilled with how he looked in the thumbnails at first. That changed once he saw the numbers and the money coming in from the videos.

“I remember when we first started, I would be like, ‘Man, is he ever gonna make me look half decent in any of these thumbnails? Then I started seeing the views and subsequently the money that came behind that. I’m like, ‘You make me look as dumb as you need. That’s perfectly fine.’”

So no, Maven is not walking around with some deep personal hatred for Triple H. He had criticism, he had a story, and his team slapped a title on it that made people click. That’s the game now. Maven said the quiet part out loud. A title like “Why I Hate Triple H” gets attention, gets views, and gets people arguing. Whether fans like that or not, it worked.
