Madison Square Garden made sure Hulk Hogan wasn’t forgotten on the first anniversary of his passing.
On July 24, 2026, exactly one year after Hogan’s death, The World’s Most Famous Arena displayed a massive tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer on one of its exterior billboards. The display featured a photo of Hogan alongside the message:
“Rest in Peace Hulk Hogan 1953–2025.”
The tribute carried extra meaning given Hogan’s long history with Madison Square Garden. Long before WWE became the global juggernaut it is today, Hogan helped transform the company into a national phenomenon, headlining and selling out Madison Square Garden numerous times throughout the 1980s and beyond. The arena served as the backdrop for many of the biggest moments of his legendary career, making it one of the venues most closely associated with “The Hulkster.”
The public tribute came as wrestling fans around the world marked one year since Hogan’s passing. His son, Nick Hogan, also shared an emotional message on Instagram, calling Hogan his “best friend, mentor and, most importantly, my father.” Nick reflected on the difficult year since his father’s death and said not a day goes by that he doesn’t wish he could have “one more hug, laugh or conversation.”
Madison Square Garden’s tribute served as another reminder of Hogan’s lasting connection to one of wrestling’s most iconic venues. Decades after helping fill the arena and create countless memorable moments inside it, the Garden paused to honor one of the biggest stars ever to step through its doors.
