Ludwig Kaiser’s battery case just got another update, and this time prosecutors are preparing to turn over medical records. The WWE Superstar already failed to get his misdemeanor charge dismissed, and now his defense team is being told to provide a blank DVD so the State of Florida can send over the latest evidence.
Ringside News has obtained a new Notice of Supplemental Discovery filed on October 26, 2026, in Orange County, Florida. The document, submitted by Assistant State Attorney Juanda Padgett, confirms that redacted medical records are being made available to Kaiser’s attorney, Thomas D. Sommerville. The filing gets straight to the point:
“Please provide a blank DVD for copy of Redacted Medical Records. Upon receipt a copy will be made and sent to your office via US mail.”
The notice was emailed to Kaiser’s attorney on October 26, just one week after a judge denied his attempt to get the battery charge thrown out. The filing doesn’t identify whose medical records are involved or what they contain. It also doesn’t confirm that the defense has received them yet. Prosecutors are waiting for the blank DVD before sending a copy.
This isn’t the first batch of evidence to surface in the case. On October 22, prosecutors gave Kaiser’s defense access to four photographs of alleged injuries involving Richard Reap, the man accusing him of assault. The pictures were identified as two head injury photos, one right elbow photo, and another showing an injury to Reap’s right side.
Those photographs came after Kaiser’s October 19 hearing, where his attempt to have the battery charge dismissed failed. Both Kaiser and Reap testified during that hearing, and prosecutors introduced a CD and four photographs as evidence. The judge ultimately denied Kaiser’s motion to dismiss under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law.
The case stems from an April 23 confrontation at an Orlando apartment complex. Reap claims Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, punched and pushed him during an argument. Kaiser has denied wrongdoing, and his attorneys maintain that he was acting in self-defense.
According to Kaiser’s previously filed self-defense arguments, Reap became aggressive during an elevator encounter involving Kaiser and his girlfriend, Andrea Bazarte. His defense also claims Reap made threats involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement before approaching Kaiser in a threatening manner.
Kaiser’s attorneys have maintained that he only pushed Reap because he believed he was about to be attacked. Reap has given a very different account of what happened. The defense has also been fighting to obtain surveillance footage from the apartment building. As Ringside News previously covered, Kaiser’s attorneys sought video from outside the 12th-floor elevator where the confrontation allegedly occurred.
Now prosecutors are adding medical records to the discovery process, although the latest document doesn’t reveal whether those records will help the prosecution, the defense, or neither. It simply confirms that another set of materials is being prepared for Kaiser’s legal team.
Kaiser has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial conference on December 17, 2026. A possible trial window running from January 4 through January 22, 2027, is also on the calendar.
Kaiser wanted the charge dismissed before things got this far, but the judge wasn’t convinced by his Stand Your Ground argument. Now, with photographs already disclosed and medical records next in line, both sides are continuing to prepare for a case that could end up in front of a jury. For Kaiser, the fight to get this charge behind him is still very much alive.
