Lizzy Rain didn’t waste time speaking after her NXT debut win — and in a post-match interview, she made it clear just how much the moment meant after everything she went through to get there.

After picking up a victory over Nikkita Lyons during her in-ring NXT debut on the April 28 episode, Lizzy Rain spoke backstage about the long road that led to her finally stepping into a WWE ring. The win marked her first official match on the brand after previously appearing in a vignette.

During the interview, Lizzy didn’t hide her emotions as she described finally reaching WWE after battling through setbacks earlier in her career, including a long injury layoff.

“You so much. Honestly, it feels so surreal that I'm even standing here in the WWE. It has been such a long journey to be here. I had a year out with a knee injury for a whole year on the Indies, and it was full of heartbreak, torment.”

She continued by explaining that despite the struggles, her goal of reaching WWE never changed — even during the toughest parts of her recovery.

“But I knew that WWE was where I wanted to be and there would be nothing that got in my way of getting here.”

Rain also shared that her family stayed up late to watch her debut match, making the moment even more meaningful on a personal level.

“My family stayed up until 2am tonight just to watch my debut. I hope I did my uncle proud. Shout out to Clive Burr. Thank you for inspiring me for so many years.”

She closed her message by tying her personality and wrestling style back to her heavy metal theme, promising fans that what they saw wasn’t a one-time performance.

“And I think it's safe to say that I did show the world tonight that Heavy Metal and Lizzy Raine will never, ever die.”

With her debut win already secured and her first interview now in the books, Lizzy Rain has made it clear that she sees this moment as just the beginning of her run in NXT after fighting through injury setbacks to get here.
