Liv Morgan is adding another movie role to her résumé, with the WWE star joining the cast of the upcoming psychological thriller “Ping.”
Deadline revealed that production is already underway in Mississippi, with Morgan appearing alongside “Obsession” actress Megan Lawless, “The Recruit” star Fivel Stewart, creator Savanah Moss and “After” actor Carter Jenkins.
Morgan, whose real name is Gionna Daddio, continues to push further into Hollywood after also landing a role in “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.” “Ping” is written and directed by Richie Gordon in his feature debut and centers around an aspiring creative director who lands what looks like the perfect remote job—only for the situation to spiral as she is forced to choose between her sanity and a boss she can never escape.
Ultimate Media Group is launching international sales for the movie at the TIFF market while working with CAA Media Finance on domestic sales. Jason Buckley of Ultimate Media Group said the company believes the movie has the right ingredients to connect with audiences around the world.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce Ping to our buyers at TIFF. It’s a smart, provocative and highly relevant film that explores ambition, power and the increasingly blurred lines between our professional and personal lives. With Richie’s vision and Megan starring, we believe Ping has all the elements to resonate with audiences globally, and we’re looking forward to beginning those conversations in Toronto.”
Gordon also explained that the movie takes aim at modern work culture and the way constant pressure can push people beyond their limits.
“Ping examines the promises of modern work that can push us to work harder and longer, sometimes at the expense of ourselves – it asks those of us living through burnout culture: what is enough? I was blown away by how deeply that resonated with Megan and the rest of the cast, and am incredibly fortunate to have some of the best crew in the business to bring it to life. I’m in awe of the talent behind this film and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”
Morgan’s role in the movie hasn’t been revealed yet, but her inclusion gives the WWE star another step outside the wrestling ring as her acting career continues to grow.
There’s no release date for “Ping” yet, but with production already rolling and the movie being taken to buyers at TIFF, Liv Morgan officially has another Hollywood project on the board.
