Liv Morgan is heading from the WWE ring to the streets of Tokyo, and fans just got their first look at her latest movie role.
NEON released the first trailer for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, the newest entry in the Bad Lieutenant film series. The movie stars Shun Oguri, Lily James, Shotaro Mamiya and Morgan, with Takashi Miike directing.
Morgan is featured in the trailer, confirming that her role goes beyond simply having her name attached to the cast. Details surrounding her character are still being kept quiet, but the WWE star can be seen in the footage alongside the film’s main cast.
The movie does not have an official release date yet. Current promotional material only lists it as “Coming Soon,” although Morgan previously indicated that the film was expected to arrive in September.
Morgan spent time away from WWE television in May 2025 while filming the project in Japan. That absence raised questions about her status at the time, but it is now clear that she was working on one of the biggest acting roles of her career.
The film arrives during another major run for Morgan in WWE. She currently holds the WWE Women’s World Championship after successfully defending the title against IYO SKY at SummerSlam.
Morgan has already proven she can command attention inside a WWE arena, and Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo gives her another chance to expand her career outside wrestling. With the first trailer now released, the next big question is when the movie will finally hit theaters.
