TNA just added another war to Lockdown, with The System officially booked for a Lethal Lockdown showdown against Ricky Sosa, K.C. Navarro, Jada Stone and Fabian Aichner on August 23 in Chicago.
The match was made official during the August 13 episode of TNA Wrestling Thursday Night iMPACT after K.C. Navarro went one-on-one with Eddie Edwards. Alisha Edwards tried to get involved from ringside, but Navarro survived the interference and still managed to put Eddie away for the victory. The System wasn’t about to let him celebrate.
Bear Bronson and Brian Myers immediately jumped Navarro after the bell, turning the post-match scene into a beatdown until Ricky Sosa, Jada Stone and Fabian Aichner hit the ring to even the numbers and send The System packing.
That’s when TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella stepped in and made the next move official. The two sides will settle their issues inside Lethal Lockdown, adding another cage fight to an already stacked August 23 card.
The updated TNA Lockdown lineup is:
- TNA World Tag Team Championship — Cage Match: The Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) (c) vs. Nemeth Brothers (Ryan Nemeth & Nic Nemeth)
- Cage Match: Elijah vs. A.J. Francis
- TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship — Cage Match: DemonXBunny (Allie & Rosemary) (c) vs. The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance)
- TNA International Championship — Cage Match: Jason Hotch (c) vs. Mustafa Ali
- Escape The Cage Match: Moose vs. Frankie Kazarian
- TNA Knockouts World Championship — Cage Match: Xia Brookside (c) vs. Elayna Black
- TNA X Division Championship — Cage Match: Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Leon Slater — If Slater loses, his second-longest X Division Championship reign is erased from TNA history
- Lethal Lockdown Match: The System (Eddie Edwards, Bear Bronson, Brian Myers & Alisha Edwards) vs. Ricky Sosa, K.C. Navarro, Jada Stone & Fabian Aichner
The System tried to use the numbers game after Navarro beat Eddie Edwards, but that attack ultimately gave Santino Marella all the reason he needed to throw everybody into Lethal Lockdown. Now eight wrestlers are heading into the cage with nowhere to run on August 23.
