Leon Slater had a receipt waiting for everyone after TNA Bound For Glory on October 11, 2026, and this one goes all the way back to 2021. Hours after beating Nic Nemeth to become TNA World Champion, Slater dug up an old post where he straight-up predicted he would become a world champion within 10 years.
The old tweet was posted on June 19, 2021, long before Slater had a major-company contract and years before he was anywhere near TNA’s top title.
“I will be a world champion in the next 10 years”
Turns out, he didn’t even need the full decade. After his Bound For Glory win, Slater reposted the message and made it very clear he remembered exactly what he said.
“I Posted this 5 years ago
2 years before I was signed to a major company
I was right
If you can see it
Speak it
And with hard work it will come
THANK YOU ALL
YOUNGEST WORLD CHAMPION IN PRO WRESTLING HISTORY”
That is one hell of a victory lap. Slater’s championship win came after he cashed in on Option C, gave up the X-Division Championship and went all-in on a shot at Nic Nemeth. The gamble paid off when he survived Nemeth’s biggest shots and finally put him away with the Swanton 450.
But the tweet is what really makes the whole thing hit different. Slater wasn’t posting after the fact and pretending he always believed it. He put the prediction out there five years ago, before the big contract, before the TNA push and before there was any guarantee he would ever get close to this moment.
Now he gets to look back at that post with the TNA World Championship in hand. Slater called his shot years before anyone had to take it seriously, and now he has the proof sitting right there on his timeline. The kid who said he’d be world champion within 10 years just did it in five.
