Leon Slater just pulled off the biggest win of his career and left Tampa as the new TNA World Champion. “The Youngest In Charge” defeated Nic Nemeth in the main event of TNA Bound For Glory on October 11, 2026, surviving everything the veteran champion threw at him before finally putting Nemeth away with a Swanton 450.
The match started technical, with both men trading control before Slater slapped Nemeth across the face and turned the temperature up fast. Nemeth answered by slowing things down, hitting a Famouser and a Rude Awakening for near falls before trapping Slater in a standing sleeper that nearly ended the match.
Slater fought free and started finding openings of his own, including a Utopia for a close two-count. From there, the pace exploded. Nemeth hit a DDT, superkick and a Skull Crushing Finale into another Famouser, but Slater kept kicking out.
Nemeth then started loading up his biggest shots. He went for Sweet Chin Music, caught Slater with another superkick and later hit the Danger Zone, but Slater somehow survived that too.
Slater answered with a Blue Thunder Bomb that sent Nemeth rolling to the floor, then launched himself over the turnbuckles and ring post to wipe the champion out at ringside.
Once Nemeth was back inside, Slater went hunting for the finish. Nemeth rolled across the ring to avoid the first setup, but Slater stayed on him, hit a splash and then connected with the Swanton 450. This time, there was no kickout.
Leon Slater scored the three-count and officially became the new TNA World Champion, completing the payoff to the Option C decision that saw him vacate the X-Division Championship for this shot.
Nemeth threw just about everything he had at Slater and still couldn’t keep him down. Slater survived the sleeper, the Famouser, the Danger Zone and a pile of near falls before finally landing the move that changed his career forever.
