One of the craziest moments from WWE Money in the Bank didn’t happen quite as spontaneously as it looked. A backstage photo making the rounds online has now given fans a rare look at how WWE rehearsed Je’Von Evans’ unforgettable ambulance spot before the show ever went live.
The photo appears to have been taken during pre-show rehearsals inside the Smoothie King Center and shows Evans standing at the very top of the ladder near the hanging Money in the Bank briefcase. It’s the same setup that later led to him crashing through the roof of the ambulance during one of the night’s most memorable moments.
The picture also offers a cool look at several other WWE Superstars getting ready for the show. Trick Williams can be seen inside the ring talking with Bron Breakker, while Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh are standing at ringside watching everything go down.
Kevin Owens is also visible sitting on a ladder as preparations continue around him. Outside the ring, Sol Ruca, Roxanne Perez and several other competitors from the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match appear to be discussing their own spots ahead of bell time.
It’s not unusual for WWE to rehearse dangerous stunt sequences before a premium live event, but fans don’t often get to see those preparations. The photo gives a rare behind-the-scenes look at just how much planning goes into making these massive ladder matches come together safely.
Seeing the rehearsal doesn’t take away from what fans watched at Money in the Bank—it actually shows just how much planning went into pulling off one of WWE’s biggest stunts of the year. Even with everything carefully mapped out beforehand, Evans still had to put his body on the line to make the moment look as chaotic as it did on live television.
