Kurt Angle apparently isn’t happy with some of the stories that have been told about him over the years. The WWE Hall of Famer is now warning fans that his name can be brought up in interviews and documentaries simply because it helps attract attention.
Angle took to his Instagram Story with the message, suggesting this isn’t something he views as a one-time problem. According to Angle, it has happened in the past and he fully expects his name to continue coming up in other people’s stories in the future.
“There have been times, and there will be times both past, present, and future when my name has and will come up in interviews and documentaries to raise ratings or viewership.”
Angle didn’t name anyone or point to a particular documentary, interview or recent claim that prompted him to speak out. That makes it unclear whether something specific set him off, but his message about how fans should handle those stories was pretty direct.
“Unless it comes directly from me…. don’t believe it.”
That’s a fairly sweeping warning considering just how much of Angle’s career has been discussed by former colleagues over the years. From his WWE and TNA runs to his personal struggles and relationships behind the scenes, Angle has naturally been the subject of plenty of wrestling interviews and documentaries.
For now, though, Angle isn’t explaining exactly which stories he believes fans shouldn’t trust. He’s simply drawing a pretty firm line: if somebody is making a claim involving Kurt Angle, he wants fans to hear his side before believing it.
