Kevin Knight just took a pretty nasty swing at MJF, and he didn’t stop at questioning his ego.
While speaking on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Knight was asked about his recent social media exchange with MJF after the former AEW World Champion mocked his roller skating. MJF joked that he had been waiting three hours for his Sonic order before telling Knight to “put the fries in the bag.”
Knight fired back by calling MJF “uncultured,” and when the subject came up in the interview, he explained exactly what he meant. According to Knight, MJF walks around believing he’s the smartest guy in every room and the best professional wrestler on the planet. Knight even acknowledged that MJF landed the No. 1 spot in the 2026 PWI 500, though he made sure to point out that the ranking is still subjective. Ringside News covered MJF taking the top spot in the 2026 PWI 500 when the rankings were revealed in September. Knight believes that confidence has also created one of MJF’s biggest problems.
“You just know how MJF is. He always thinks he thinks he’s the smartest in the room. He thinks he’s the best professional wrestler in the world, which he did get the number one in the PWI, which is subjective always.”
“He lives in his own head, and I think that’s his biggest problem, and he doesn’t realize it.”
MJF certainly hasn’t been shy about his opinion of himself. After landing the No. 1 ranking, MJF said wrestling fans don’t deserve to see his vulnerable side anymore and went right back to calling himself the greatest professional wrestler alive. Knight’s issue with MJF goes beyond wrestling, though. He explained that calling him “uncultured” came from the idea that there should be more to someone’s life than sitting around thinking about professional wrestling all day.
“We don’t just sit at home just thinking about pro wrestling all the day. We have actual lives, and we can do other things, you know, roller skating is one of them, playing the guitar is another one, IT, reading a book, you know what I mean? There’s multiple other things that we do other than just pro wrestling.”
Knight has plenty going on inside the wrestling world too. His position in AEW changed significantly when he joined the Don Callis Family while holding the TNT Championship. That move quickly put Knight into a bigger spot on AEW television, and he made it clear at the time that his goal was eventually becoming “Kevin Two Belts” by adding the AEW World Championship.
Those ambitions weren’t just talk either. A little over a month later, Kevin Knight was being discussed for a future AEW World Championship match as his push continued to gain steam.
Knight eventually returned to his problem with MJF and delivered the hardest shot of the entire conversation. He believes MJF was genuinely surprised to discover that Knight could be good at professional wrestling while also having other talents and interests away from the ring.
“So, I think he was kind of astonished that, yes, I’m a great professional wrestler, and I’m also great in other things. Meanwhile, he’s only good at one thing. So, I think that kind of threw him off guard.”
MJF has built an entire career around telling people he’s better than them, but Knight clearly isn’t interested in helping inflate that ego. He’ll give MJF credit for being great at professional wrestling, but saying that’s the only thing he’s actually good at is the kind of insult that could easily come back around the next time these two cross paths.
Do you think Kevin Knight has a point about MJF living in his own head, or is MJF’s massive ego part of what makes him so successful? Let us know what you think and leave your feedback in the comments below.
