Kelani Jordan is getting ready to marry Carmelo Hayes next month, but anybody hoping their wedding turns into an episode of WWE Raw is going to be disappointed.
While speaking on Going Ringside, Jordan says there will be absolutely no table spots at the reception — and her reason is pretty damn simple: those tables cost too much. Jordan was asked whether weddings between wrestlers get a little crazier than normal weddings, with the interviewer joking about the possibility of somebody getting sent through a table. Kelani didn’t even have to think about it. That furniture is staying in one piece.
“Um no, no, no. Wedding — well, our wedding no one is going through a table because that table was way too expensive for anyone to be going through a table.”
She did admit that wrestler weddings can get wild. Jordan said she’s seen people turn engagements and weddings into mini wrestling shows before, complete with slams and table spots. That still isn’t happening at hers.
“But I have seen some wrestling engagements or weddings where people go to the table, they wrestle, they body slam, but no, no, no. Not us.”
Jordan and Hayes are set to get married in October, and she made it clear the big day is coming up fast. She said the two are doing great and are ready to finally make things official.
“Me and Mello we’re doing awesome. Actually, our wedding is in Oh my gosh, I don’t even know how many days, but it’s close. It’s literally next month in October. So, we are excited to finally, you know, become one officially. But yeah, he’s awesome.”
Jordan also gave Hayes his flowers, saying he’s more than just a great partner. According to her, Hayes is the person who keeps pushing her when she starts doubting herself.
“He also is just like not only he’s a great partner, but he’s also just a great human being. He really works hard. He believes in me when I don’t believe in myself and he always challenges me and pushes me whether it’s like wrestling or even just outside life stuff, too.”
So there you have it — Carmelo Hayes and Kelani Jordan may spend their lives around people who make a living smashing furniture, but nobody is wrecking the expensive setup on their wedding day. Save the table bumps for Monday night.
