Kelani Jordan had some heartbreaking news to share, and this one clearly hit close to home. The NXT Women’s Champion revealed that her guinea pig Pabi passed away after spending eight years by her side.
Jordan took to her Instagram Stories and shared a bunch of photos and videos of her little guy, revealing that Pabi had passed away the night before. She had gotten him during her sophomore year of college as an emotional support buddy, so he had basically been there through an entire chapter of her life.
“Last night, my little guy Pabi went to guinea pig heaven 🤍 8 years together 🥹”
Jordan then looked back at everything they had been through together and gave Pabi a pretty sweet sendoff and made it clear that she wants her beloved friend to get all the love in heaven.
“I got Pabi my sophomore year of college as an emotional support buddy. he’s been with me through it all 💗 hope you get all the chin scratches and celery in heaven buddy, gonna miss your little squeaks 😔”
She also had something to say for anyone who might shrug this off because Pabi was “just” a guinea pig. Jordan explained that these little guys recognize their owners, form real attachments and have their own personalities.
“And to some he may just be a ‘hamster’ but guinea pigs are like little dogs, they recognize their owners, and have real attachments and unique personalities. They are VERY social creatures 🥺💗”
The pictures she shared pretty much told the rest of the story. Pabi was clearly more than just a pet Jordan happened to have around — he had been her little buddy since college and stayed with her for eight years as her life changed dramatically around him.
That makes saying goodbye especially rough. Jordan may spend her nights performing in front of thousands of people now, but Pabi was around long before all of that, and judging by her tribute, those “little squeaks” are going to be seriously missed.
