Karl Anderson has shared plenty of backstage stories over the years, but this one might be the funniest yet.
While appearing on Inside The Ring, Anderson and Luke Gallows were asked what Vince McMahon was really like behind the scenes. Instead of talking about Vince’s famous laugh or his trademark “Goddamn!” reactions, the Good Brothers immediately remembered the time Anderson accidentally crop-dusted Vince outside his office. Gallows said:
“What he did was, he crop-dusted Vince McMahon’s general area. Vince walked out of the office right as this had launched. He didn’t s*** in his mouth, but he farted in his general vector.”
According to Anderson, the whole thing happened in 2008 when he was in incredible shape, living on a high-protein diet and getting pumped up backstage before going out. Unfortunately for Vince, the timing couldn’t have been worse.
“We got a couple of good pops from Vince. I think the funniest one we got was when he walked through my… the fart.
I was probably my leanest I’d ever been… 2008. Full of protein. I was kind of pumping up before whatever, just in there bullss****ng. Then I ripped one.”
Everyone standing nearby knew exactly what had happened: “Everybody’s going off, ‘Oh yeah, f** you, man.'” Then Anderson looked up. Vince McMahon had just walked out of his office… and straight into the cloud: “I turn around and I see Vince walking. I went, ‘Oh, f***.'” Luke Gallows couldn’t help laughing as he filled in the rest of the story.
According to Gallows, Vince immediately realized something wasn’t right: “Goddamn… did somebody s*** here?” Anderson said everyone nearby was trying not to lose it as Vince looked around wondering who the culprit was: “And he sees us all kind of laughing.”
As it turns out, Anderson’s reputation hasn’t changed much over the years. When one of the hosts asked whether he’s still known for clearing rooms, Gallows didn’t hesitate.
“He’s a serial farter. I ride with him everywhere. He can clear first class. No alcohol needed.”
For all the stories about Vince McMahon’s intensity behind the scenes, this one had nothing to do with creative meetings or locker-room politics. It was just terrible timing, one badly placed fart and a backstage moment the Good Brothers clearly haven’t stopped laughing about nearly two decades later.
