Kairi Sane has finally spoken out after days of speculation surrounding her WWE release, and her message is already turning heads.
Following reports that suggested she may have wanted to return to Japan — and claims that WWE has no plans to bring her back — Sane took to social media Tuesday evening to address the rumors directly. “What I can say is I know there’s been a lot of speculation, but I truly love this work, my teammates, and my fans. I’ve never walked away, and I’ve given my all in everything I do. I hope you’re all doing well.”
Her message comes after conflicting reports about why she was released in the first place. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested the situation may have been influenced by Sane expressing interest in moving back to Japan, rather than WWE simply making a business decision.
While explaining what he had heard, Meltzer pointed to the unusual timing of the move, especially since Sane was still involved in an ongoing storyline at the time.
“So, the Kairi thing. The reason she was cut was I think she had kinda indicated that she wanted to move back to Japan.”
He also questioned the idea that finances played a role, noting that WWE has the resources to keep talent around long enough to finish storylines.
“The reality is, this is not a money issue. You know what I mean? This company makes... whatever it is. The revenue between UFC and WWE and throwing everything in, the revenue's in the billions of dollars. To keep a cohesive storyline, it’s not that expensive to do.”
At the same time, separate comments from WrestleVotes indicated that WWE has no intention of reversing her release, even as fan support continues to grow online. The ongoing #WeWantKairi movement has remained active, but there’s belief internally that WWE is simply waiting for the noise to fade.
“The ‘#WeWantKross’—that died. This, ‘#WeWantKairi’—they’re hoping it dies, and that’s that.”
