Josh Alexander just put PAC in some seriously elite company, saying the late AEW star was the closest thing professional wrestling has had to Eddie Guerrero.

While speaking in a new interview with POST Wrestling, Alexander broke down why he held PAC in such high regard inside the ring. He named Bret Hart, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero as his personal three greatest in-ring wrestlers ever, explaining that what separated them was their ability to check nearly every box once the bell rang.

“Like I idolize Bret Hart, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero. I think they are the greatest three in-ring wrestlers of all time. Like we won’t even talk about the stuff they do outside of the ring. In the ring, they’re the best to me because they check so many boxes.”

That is where Alexander dropped the huge PAC comparison. In his eyes, PAC had the same kind of versatility Guerrero possessed and could deliver no matter what style of wrestling was put in front of him.

“PAC checked all the boxes that Eddie Guerrero checked. I like, I think he’s the closest thing we’ve ever had to an Eddie Guerrero ever again because every style of wrestling he excelled at and he did to perfection.”

Alexander believes that level of versatility did not happen by accident. He said PAC treated professional wrestling with an extreme level of seriousness, and that dedication showed every time he stepped into the ring.

“And it’s because he took this so seriously, you know.”

The comparison came after Alexander explained that he had been studying PAC’s work for roughly 15 years. He first discovered him during the mid-2000s, when PAC was already doing things in the air that Alexander had never seen before.

“Yeah. Uh I was exposed in like the mid 2000s. Uh you know, he showed up at PDBG randomly and you were just like, ‘Who’s this skinny little guy?’ And then he’s doing all this insane high-flying stuff I’ve never seen before.”

Alexander watched PAC evolve from a cutting-edge high flyer into a much more complete wrestler through his time in Dragon Gate and later WWE as Neville. The more Alexander studied him, the more he realized PAC was far more than just someone who could pull off insane aerial offense.

“Like I have studied that man for 15 years probably relentlessly because like when the high-flying stuff was happening, like it’s all very impressive, not anything I can do ever. But then when I started watching his wrestling I’m like this guy’s good at everything.”

Alexander also believes PAC helped lay the groundwork for wrestlers such as Ricochet and Will Ospreay, saying PAC was changing high-flying wrestling before either of them had become major names.

“This is prior to Ricochet. This is prior to Will Ospreay. This is this guy really coming in and just flipping the script on what high-flying wrestling was.”

He went even further and credited PAC with helping inspire the generation that followed.

“And I think like he’s the one that inspired the people like the Ricochets and the Will Ospreys and this whole generation we have of incredible athletes that can do that stuff.”

The comments hit harder following PAC’s death at 40 years old, with wrestlers across the industry continuing to share just how much Benjamin Satterley meant to them. Alexander’s Eddie Guerrero comparison shows just how high PAC ranked in the eyes of someone who spent years studying his work.

Calling anybody the closest thing wrestling has had to Eddie Guerrero is a massive statement, but Alexander clearly believes PAC earned that comparison through versatility, precision and a style that kept evolving throughout his career.
