John Cena is coming back to RAW next week, and apparently he’s finally ready to explain what the hell the John Cena Classic actually is. After letting fans speculate about the tournament, Cena says the waiting game ends in Brooklyn.
Cena took to Twitter ahead of the November 2 episode of RAW and teased a pretty big night. Not only will he be back on WWE television, but he confirmed that he’s finally going to reveal details about the John Cena Classic. Cena didn’t reveal anything early either. Instead, he told fans they’ll have to tune in if they want answers.
“Make sure not to miss #WWERaw next week. SPECIAL START TIME OF 6PM EST! The wait is over, the speculation ends 11/2. Let’s build this ‘Never Seen’ CLASSIC! OUR time is NOW!”
So yeah, Cena is clearly having some fun with this. The “Never Seen” line is an obvious play on “You Can’t See Me,” while “OUR time is NOW” gives his entrance theme another little shoutout. Beyond that, though, Cena is keeping his mouth shut about what the tournament actually involves.
WWE previously announced that Cena will appear on the November 2 edition of RAW at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It’ll be his first appearance on Monday Night RAW in nearly a year, so his return was already going to be a big deal even before he started teasing a tournament reveal.
Cena may be retired from the ring, but he clearly isn’t completely disappearing from WWE. He’s been pretty open about missing the company since calling it a career, and now he’s coming back with something that already has fans guessing about what he’s cooked up. For now, Cena wants everyone to keep guessing for a few more days. Come November 2, though, he says the speculation is officially over.
