John Cena has faced some pretty ridiculous challenges throughout his WWE career, but Sesame Street just found an opponent who had him completely outmatched in one very specific department. Cena tried going cookie-for-cookie with Cookie Monster, and things got hilariously out of control once milk and a championship were thrown into the mix.
The official Sesame Street Twitter account uploaded a video of Cena and Cookie Monster battling to see who could eat the most cookies with milk. They hyped up the showdown with a very appropriate warning for the 17-time World Champion.
“John Cena’s time is up, Cookie Monster’s time is now!! 🍪🏆”
Before the eating even started, Cena and Cookie Monster went face-to-face like they were about to headline WrestleMania. Cookie Monster apparently came prepared with his wrestling trash talk too, combining one of Cena’s most famous lines with a little Hulkamania.
“You no can see me. Cookiemania is running wild!”
Then the cookies came out, and Cena quickly discovered he had picked a fight with probably the worst possible opponent. Cookie Monster absolutely lived up to his name, tearing through everything in front of him while Cena struggled to keep pace.
Cookie Monster eventually won the showdown and was presented with a championship belt that looked like a giant cookie. Cena still couldn’t resist breaking out one of his signature lines once the title appeared.
“The Champ is here.”
There was just one problem — Cookie Monster apparently didn’t understand that championship belts aren’t supposed to be part of the meal. He immediately started eating his new title, forcing Cena to step in with some important wrestling advice.
“Cookie, it doesn’t work like that.”
Cena may know a thing or two about winning championships, but there was never really going to be much hope for him once the competition involved eating cookies. Cookie Monster got the win, the championship and apparently tried to eat the prize too, which might be the most Cookie Monster way possible to celebrate a title win.
