Jim Cornette wasn’t interested in buying what Linda McMahon was selling alongside Donald Trump. He wasn’t interested in politely disagreeing either. The second he saw McMahon’s message about transgender students and parental rights, he went straight for both of them.

Cornette took to Twitter after seeing a video featuring McMahon alongside Trump. In the clip, McMahon claimed the Biden administration had allowed schools to “secretly transition students” without their parents knowing.

“After the Biden administration allowed schools to secretly transition students without parents’ knowledge, President Trump is defending parental rights like never before.”

Jim Cornette had a very different reaction. He called McMahon a “plastic-faced stooge.” He called Donald Trump a “crime boss.” Then he went after anyone who actually believed what Linda McMahon was saying.

“I can believe the plastic-faced stooge lying with the crime boss standing over her–what I’m gobsmacked about is that anyone with a functioning brain actually BELIEVES this gibberish:”

The claim itself needs some context. The Biden administration did not establish a federal policy allowing schools to secretly provide medical gender-transition procedures to students without parental consent. The political fight has largely involved policies over transgender students using different names or pronouns at school and whether that information should be disclosed to parents.

This also wasn’t Cornette suddenly deciding to get political. He has been going after Trump publicly for years and rarely bothers softening the language when he does. Back in June, Cornette jumped into the fight surrounding Trump’s attempt to restrict birthright citizenship and turned that into another shot at Trump and his family.

“If we’re going to revoke anyone’s US citizenship, let’s start with S***ler and his whole family–the air will smell better and the crime rate will drop in half.”

Cornette and McMahon may share decades of history in the wrestling business, but that clearly didn’t earn her a pass here. Linda made the claim, Trump was standing beside her, and Cornette needed one tweet to make it pretty obvious what he thought about both the message and the people delivering it.
