JBL is not sugarcoating anything when it comes to Road Dogg’s WWE run.

Road Dogg left WWE earlier this year, and some fans immediately started taking shots at his creative work on SmackDown. JBL heard the criticism, and he had a very simple response for those people.

“These guys that are out there, they’re talking about Road Dogg didn’t do a good job, man f**k you. It’s just bullsht.”*

That was JBL on Something To Wrestle, and he was not done. JBL said WWE has been selling out arenas all over the world and making money at a level wrestlers from his era never thought possible. In his eyes, Road Dogg was one of the people behind that success, so pretending he failed at the job is ridiculous.

“These guys are selling out arenas all over the world, making more money, we never dreamed that people would make money like this. Road Dogg was one of the guys behind it.”

JBL also said people do not understand how hard WWE creative actually is. This is not a scripted TV show where everything gets filmed, edited, and cleaned up before it airs. WWE is live every week, 52 weeks a year, and mistakes are going to happen.

He said even Vince McMahon had plenty of failures, but Vince still turned WWE into a monster business. JBL pointed out that Vince bought the company from his father for $1 million and sold it for $9.3 billion while still keeping control, calling that “Game of Thrones sh*t.”

JBL also compared WWE to AAA, where he has been working recently. He praised AAA, but said filming one hour a week is nowhere close to what WWE has to do with its nonstop television machine.

“I love AAA and I love working down there, I think it’s the hottest show in the world right now. It’s a lot easier what they’re doing, when you’re filming an hour a week and you’ve got great stars as compared to filming 50 hours a week or whatever WWE does.”

His point was blunt. WWE creative is a meat grinder, Road Dogg was part of a successful run, and the fans trashing him do not know what they are talking about. JBL closed it the same way he started it.

“I think Road Dogg did an excellent job. Those guys who are complaining about it, man, f**k you.”

Road Dogg may be gone from WWE, but JBL is making it clear that he is not letting fans rewrite the story. As far as he is concerned, the business was booming, Road Dogg helped make that happen, and the critics can shove it.
