Jack Perry took some absolutely nasty bumps during this week’s AEW Dynamite, and there’s now an update on how he’s feeling after getting through the match. Considering how ugly a couple of those landings looked, there was plenty of reason for concern once the show was over.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez revealed that Perry has been telling people he’s sore following his October 28 match against Kyle Fletcher. There was no indication of a more serious injury in the update, with soreness being the word coming from Perry after the match.

“Hey, you want a scoop? I did hear that Jack Perry was telling people that he was sore.”

That probably won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who watched the match. Perry and Fletcher went pretty damn hard, with Perry taking several rough-looking bumps involving his neck and back during the bout. The one that really stood out came when Fletcher powerbombed Perry onto the edge of the ring. Perry came down awkwardly against the ring frame in a spot that looked brutal in real time, and Alvarez admitted he was shocked Perry apparently escaped with just soreness.

“If you watch that match, he’s lucky he’s only sore. I thought he was going to get legitimately decapitated when he took that powerbomb into the ring frame. Absolutely brutal.”

Perry still managed to finish the match despite everything he took. Fletcher eventually dragged him to the top rope and hit a Brainbuster to pick up the win, ending a match that featured several dangerous-looking landings along the way.

For now, the good news is that the only word coming out of the match is that Perry has been telling people he’s sore. There’s been no indication from this update that he suffered a more serious injury, which is pretty remarkable considering just how nasty that powerbomb and some of the other bumps looked.
