Kelly Sixx says a serious allegation has been circulating about him behind the scenes, and he’s done staying quiet about it. The British independent wrestler has now publicly denied the claim and says the situation has left him questioning whether he even wants to remain around the wrestling scene.
Sixx, who has worked for promotions including BECW, RevPro, FWF and VCW, took to Twitter after recently learning what was allegedly being said about him. He admitted that he never wanted to address something this serious publicly, but felt he had little choice if the accusation was already being discussed privately.
“I didn’t want to address this publicly, but I’ve heard through the grapevine that I’m being falsely accused of something horrendous.”
Sixx believes the allegation was being spread behind his back, which meant he couldn’t defend himself or challenge the people discussing it.
“My belief is that this is being done behind the scenes so I can’t challenge it, which unfortunately means I now need to do this publicly and forever taint my name with an accusation I don’t deserve.”
He then revealed exactly what he says he has been accused of: exchanging inappropriate messages and nude images with a 15-year-old trainee. Sixx completely denied that anything like that ever happened.
“I can categorically say this is false. There is no wiggle room on it, no half measures, it simply has not and would not ever happen. Not only because of the age, but I have also never sent nudes to anyone, not even my own girlfriends.”
Sixx said the situation has already taken a serious toll on him. He had noticed people he considered friends treating him differently for some time, but originally put it down to his own anxiety rather than suspecting something was being said about him.
“This has completely broken me. I noticed people – some who I genuinely thought were my friends – were treating me differently a while back. I just put it down to my own anxiety.”
According to Sixx, only one person actually approached him about the allegation, which is how he finally learned what was going on. He believes others had already made up their minds without asking him about it or presenting him with any evidence.
“It’s now apparent that judgements were made without any proof or even a conversation with me. ONE person asked me about it a few days ago, which is how I found out.”
Sixx says his existing bookings haven’t been taken away and that he has been assured he is still welcome at those shows. After everything that has happened, though, he isn’t sure he even wants to stick around.
“As there has been no evidence presented (and there never will be), I’ve been assured I’m still welcome at all my bookings. But honestly, I don’t think I want to be around here anymore.”
For now, Sixx has categorically denied the allegation and says no evidence has been presented to him. Where he goes from here is less certain, especially after admitting the situation has left him wondering whether he still wants a future in the British independent wrestling scene.
