Indi Hartwell just walked out of TNA Bound For Glory 2026 as the new TNA Knockouts World Champion after defeating Xia Brookside in a match that got more heated by the minute with Mickie James serving as special guest referee.
The match started a little shaky, but things turned around fast once Brookside yanked Hartwell over the top rope by her hair and the two started laying into each other with strikes. From there, the crowd got more invested as Brookside’s issues with James started becoming a major part of the match.
Brookside repeatedly yelled at James and eventually ripped the turnbuckle pad off. James took it away and tried to put it back on, causing her to mostly miss a roll-up attempt from Hartwell. Brookside later went for the knees in the corner, but Hartwell moved and fired back with a flurry of offense.
Hartwell headed to the top rope, but Brookside rolled to the floor and tried to get James to start counting her out. Hartwell wasn’t interested in winning that way and brought Brookside back into the ring, while James didn’t seem too eager to count in the first place.
Things then got even messier. Hartwell missed a top-rope elbow while Brookside still had the championship belt in her hands, sending Hartwell elbow-first into the title. James allowed things to continue, but when Brookside poked Hartwell in the eye, James finally got in her face.
Brookside responded by hitting the referee. Instead of calling for a disqualification, James hit her right back. Brookside still nearly stole the match after blocking the Hurts Donut, sending Hartwell into the exposed turnbuckle and hitting Dark Side for a near fall. She then tried to use Mickie James’ own Mickie-DT, but Hartwell blocked it and turned the match around.
Hartwell sent Brookside into the exposed buckle, climbed to the top rope and connected with an elbow before finishing her off with the Hurts Donut for the three-count.
That officially made Indi Hartwell the new TNA Knockouts World Champion at TNA Bound For Glory on October 11, 2026.
Xia Brookside spent much of the match trying to push Mickie James’ buttons, and eventually she pushed too far. Hartwell survived the referee drama, exposed turnbuckle and championship belt chaos long enough to land the Hurts Donut and leave Tampa with the biggest prize in TNA’s Knockouts division.
