Mustafa Ali may have lost the TNA International Championship at Bound for Glory, but fans are still talking about his elaborate entrance—and now one of the mystery women who accompanied him has been identified.
Ali came out with an Egyptian-inspired entrance before defending the TNA International Championship, complete with two women kneeling on either side of him as he posed with the title. While TNA never identified either of them during the broadcast, one of them has now revealed herself.
Independent wrestler Sofia Sivan took to Twitter after the show and shared a clip of Ali’s entrance, simply tagging TNA in the post and confirming she was the woman positioned on Ali’s right during the presentation.
Sivan has been making a name for herself on the independent scene for years, wrestling for promotions including CCW, CSW, UFW, ROH, SHINE and several others. While her appearance at Bound for Glory was brief, it put her in front of one of TNA’s biggest audiences of the year.
Ali’s entrance ended up being one of the more memorable presentations of the night thanks to its Egyptian theme, even though his title reign came to an end just minutes later. Jason Hotch ultimately capitalized on Ali’s failed 450 Splash attempt to get the pinfall and leave Detroit as the new TNA International Champion.
Bottom line: It’s another example of independent talent quietly popping up on major wrestling shows, and in Sivan’s case, she didn’t wait long to let fans know it was her under the limelight.
