The mystery man who destroyed Psycho Clown at AAA Verano de Escandalo has now been identified, and the reveal connects the angle directly to WWE.
While AAA has not officially named the character on television, the masked attacker will be portrayed by WWE Performance Center talent Drake Morreaux. He signed with WWE in 2024 and has already appeared on WWE EVOLVE and NXT Level Up, but this angle puts him in a much bigger spot than anything fans have seen from him so far.
The attack happened during the August 8 episode of AAA on Fox, where Psycho Clown faced Cruz Del Toro and El Fiscal in a three-way qualifier for the AAA Latin American Championship match at TripleMania. Late in the match, a large masked man wearing overalls and a Mankind-style mask appeared at ringside, grabbed Psycho Clown, pulled him over the barricade and smashed his head against it.
The attacker then ripped Psycho Clown’s mask off before picking him up and chokeslamming him directly onto the first row of chairs. Psycho was taken completely out of the match while Cruz Del Toro and El Fiscal kept fighting inside the ring.
With Psycho gone, El Fiscal eventually caught Cruz during an attempted hurricanrana and drove him face-first from the turnbuckle before hitting a splash for the win. Fiscal secured his spot in the four-way AAA Latin American Championship match at TripleMania alongside El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and La Parka.
The real story coming out of the match, though, was the mystery attacker. AAA left his identity hidden during the broadcast, but Morreaux being the man behind the mask gives the storyline a much bigger WWE connection and could signal a serious push for the Performance Center prospect.
