WWE’s latest round of trademark filings just got a major update—and NXT prospect Shady Elnahas has already locked in his new identity.
Shady Elnahas just confirmed he’s officially going by “Shido Ash,” clearing up speculation after WWE recently registered both “Shido Ash” and “The Mog Squad.” The reveal didn’t come through WWE TV—it came straight from Elnahas himself, who quietly updated his Instagram bio and made it crystal clear what his new identity is.
“Shido Ash
Athlete
WWE Superstar
Vice World Champion
2x Judo Olympian 🥋”
Elnahas signed with WWE in May 2025 after landing a developmental deal and reporting to the Performance Center. Before stepping into wrestling, he built a serious combat sports résumé—Olympian, plus gold medals across the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and IJF Grand Slam events.
Since then, he’s been working NXT house shows but hasn’t made his official televised debut just yet. His latest match came last month in Lakeland, Florida, where he faced Tyriek Igwe as he continues developing behind the scenes. Now with a confirmed name and WWE already laying the groundwork, it’s just a matter of time before “Shido Ash” shows up on NXT TV.
Do you think “Shido Ash” is the right move for Shady Elnahas, or did WWE miss with this name? Let us know your thoughts.
