Will Ospreay’s entrance at AEW All Out looked like something straight out of a video game, and it turns out that wasn’t by accident. Between the cinematic presentation, the Assassin’s Creed visuals and the familiar voice welcoming him to the ring, fans immediately knew AEW had gone all out before the opening bell even rang.
Now there’s a better idea of just how much work went into making it happen. According to a new backstage report, the entrance wasn’t something thrown together at the last minute—it had been in the works for weeks and was backed by one of AEW’s biggest commercial partners.
According to Fightful Select, Assassin’s Creed officially sponsored Ospreay’s entrance at All Out, with Ubisoft helping bring in Matt Ryan—the voice of Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag—to narrate the presentation. The report also notes that the entrance was worked on for more than a month before All Out and was part of a four-year partnership between AEW and Assassin’s Creed.

That certainly explains why the presentation felt so polished. The entrance featured gameplay from Black Flag, clips from Ospreay’s runs in both AEW and NJPW, and a custom narration from Ryan as Edward Kenway that tied Ospreay’s journey to the Assassin’s Creed philosophy before ending with the line, “We choose to fight.”
It also set the tone for Ospreay’s biggest match of the year. After making his way to the ring with one of the most elaborate entrances of his career, Ospreay survived interference from the Death Riders, fought through Jon Moxley and retained the AEW World Championship in the All Out main event.
AEW has never been shy about leaning into crossover presentations, but this one clearly wasn’t just another sponsorship logo on the screen. If this report is any indication, Ubisoft and AEW spent more than a month making sure Ospreay’s entrance felt like a genuine Assassin’s Creed experience—and judging by the reaction online, they pulled it off.
